Basic Info
Name:BaeSeung "Caspian" Choi
Birthdate:1989-12-12
Bio
Choi BaeSeung/Caspian Fredrick Goethe
age 17
birthday December 12th, 1989; Sagittarius; Earth/Wood Snake; Dàxuě Water Rat; Sheep
height 5' 9 1/2"
weight 155 lb
visible markings A scar from the middle of his ribcage down to his hip; pierced ears.

appearance Though BaeSeung can come off as particularly pretty looking, by and large he's too thick to pass as your typical Asian pretty boy. Not necessarily stocky, he's definately someone who comes off as solid, and maintains his build and body-type through careful European eating and rigorous excercise.

A fresh face in rebellion, occasionally Caspian will do incredibly odd things to his hair without rhyme or reason - and is working on guaging out his ears. Though not excessively feminine, he picked up the traits of metrosexual style from his stint in Korea, and can be caught in the occasional in the more feminine styles of sweaters paired with combat boots and the like.

He recoils at types like Clyde, however, but keeps his hair long(er) than most.

His nose is a little too flat for his face, maybe, and his eyes a little too heavy lidded - but he doesn't seem to notice these differences, and though he usually wears contacts, he can flip to glasses at a moment's notice and not be too phased.

history Choi BaeSeung was adopted during the start of the North Korean crisis by a concerned pair of Germans living in That Country. Grette and Wolfgang had a large heart, and Grette, being half Korean, felt that she would be an optimal sort of parent. BaeSeung was renamed Caspian Fredrick Goethe, and he grew up in Schubert without much of a hitch, destined to attend Second Heaven as almost all mountain children are.

His parents, runners of the local bookstore, raised him to be a scholarly type but his natural inclination rode in sports - leaving him a curious mix of intelligence and physicality that lead to a certain instant popularity throughout his youth. Elementary, Middle; it didn't matter, Caspian could create a crowd. He had himself affectionately dubbed Cas, Cassy, Cassiopeia, and various other incarnations (including, sadly, PRINCE.)

He had a girlfriend here or there, the childish kind, a kiss on the cheek - and then he went to Second Heaven.

A year later he met Penna Mentel, and their relationship became something of the stuff of legends at the school. Uncommon by any standard, it stretched well past the six month mark, and they seemed inseperable. However, the true nature of their relationship left Caspian dissatisfied with his provincial girlfriend - and when his parents began explaining that the was going to Korea, going to Korea, he began to forget to explain it to one Penna Mentel.

And then he left.

No one in his class had heard. He hadn't warned anyone. One day he was there, and the next, he never came back again. The school knew at least - a one year sabbatical. Why was he going to Korea?

His birth parents had been murdered, thus unlocking the typically communist North Korean records and presenting a chance for him to visit, on VISA, to take care of their affairs. The only son of two individuals just unluckily handled, huh.

It wasn't a strong visceral call home.
It wasn't something that tore his heart apart, to see Korea then.
But it did unlock something...

Maybe it was seeing his birth parents caskets? He'd never really thought much. His mother being half-Korean made it so that he could usually forget for large stretches of time there was any racial difference between he and his family at all. Yeah, if he thinks about it, it was seeing their caskets, laid out like that, that made him feel something of an anger in his stomach. He felt as if there was something traditional, something real that he'd been missing out on, some mask that he'd been wearing.

Their year in Korea was punctuated by the standard types of rebellion. Ear piercings, strange hair, drinking, a few parties. The regeneration of Caspian as BaeSeung (Bae-Bo, affectionately, by his one truly close Korean friend, Iseul - girlfriend for a month, only, but hey!) finished with his willing step back onto the plane to finish his education. He felt he could bring something real back to Second Heaven, and then take that education and do something for Korea; bring it together, tear it apart.

Though only having spent a few weeks in North Korea, he feels that there must be something more there for him... and well, maybe Second Heaven will be the place to get that put back together? (Doesn't mean he necessarily likes the system.)

detail: Caspian/BaeSeung will answer to anything you call him because it means you've called him. A cell phone whore in the classic definition, with keychains up the yin and yang hanging from his phone, numbers of everyone he knows or even just knows the name of lining inside, if he's not talking in class, at lunch, he's on the phone with Iseul or some other miscellaneous person - an internet friend, maybe, or maybe he's texting like a fiend!

The idea is that Caspian NEEDS to communicate. When he was with Penna it was less obvious due to the constant surroundingness that Penna provided, but his ability to make friends comes down to his need to continually and efficiently express himself. He's an independent cat, no lie - but life is too lonely if you're alone, isn't that it? For all of that he's hard to get out of the dormroom, because he's so busy talking with people far away, close by, that sometimes he doesn't have time for the doing.

He's critical (though not overly so) and very brisk to cut you off if he thinks you're wrong or you should be doing something else. Getting advice from BaeSeung resorts in a list of advice, and a mild if not impatient annoyance. Why can't you take his ideas? He's obviously right, you know. He's a smart guy!

He takes his alternative view points as a badge of pride, and his friends, being so ecclectic, might be able to tell you every one of them. He's a little over vocal on his causes - communism is NOT the ideal system, for instance, and if you've got a bone to pick about oh, say, global warming, economic policy, international trade, American intervention in the East...

...he'll debate. Maybe a little too forcefully, but he will.

He's also a God of TMI, being so communicative he's lost his filter for a lot of information, but, it makes him funny, interesting, and appealing.

The only issue is he has a hard time caring for all these people he talks too since there's too many - so if you've got a bit of his heart, you best hold it close.
